WWOOFERS

Wwoofing means working part time on an organic farm in exchange for food and accommodation. A perfect choice for a budget holiday and an in-depth Tongan cultural experience.

Our farm property is a Registered WWOOFer host with wwoofer.co.nz and WWOOFer International. Accommodation is on the property and is tents within the camping ground concept (no electricity).

The farm grows lettuce and herbs as well as a range of other vegetables and plants which need constant attention and weeding. We are situated in a subtropical zone, so also have coconuts, bananas, paw paws and many other food crops. We are trying to run the property with organic principles, and establish some permaculture areas. A biogas methane digester is also on the work plan.

We would love to have you come, stay, work and play. The farm is close by to Tokomololo, and our office is in Maufanga. What we supply is accommodation in tents and some food. We do not provide all food, just breakfast and lunch. What we do provide some of the time is a vehicle for you to see the island, or a bicycle. Our previous wwoofers think this is a great trade. I feel you will think the same, after you see the island, there’s no public transport out of 7 to 5 pm time frame.

 At the farm there is no electricity, so no refrigeration, but there are food supply shops within 5 minutes drive or 20 minutes walk. You will be cooking over gas and occasionally over fire.
